Desk with drawers and corner unit |
The Desk, corner unit and drawer unit is finished in pickled
oak -- with a clear top coat of Minwax Polycrilic and three coats of wax. The
rotary sawn veneered plywood is edged with oak.
The drawers are on slider units similar to the work tray.
At the bottom right can be seen the original purchased desk with the melamine
covering.
A second view of the desk and
tray. The tray was supposed to be a quick add-on to satisfy a short term
need. It turned out better than expected with the Walnut trim. A better
matching job on the finish was clearly in order. It was made of scrap pieces of
plywood - hence the inlay to hide the center seam. I was out of the original
oak so I used Walnut for the trim - which forms a ledge to prevent papers from
sliding out the back. The computer equipment is not included -- or is extra
cost.

Lamps |
This lamp is made in contrasting woods of Cherry and Maple.
The base and top are of cherry, and the tapered column is made of maple. A
tri-lite socket was used.

Oak Stool With Turned Spindles |
The Red Oak stool was designed for shop use. It has spindles
at two different heights to accommodate people of different heights who want a
foot rest as well as a seat. The large diagonal spindle is to provide extra
strength for the day that (inevitably) someone stands on the stool. It is
surprisingly light.
The stool is finished with Minwax Antique Oil and Johnsons
Paste wax.
